The center programs

There are various extended education programs for children.

  • Cultural targeting: "Folk culture", "The world of music".

  • Touristic - Local Lore targeting: "Growing Up Together With the City" (St Petersburg's History and Development).

  • Artistic-aesthetical targeting: "The Young Artist".

  • Physical Training targeting: "Swimming".

  • Social-educational targeting: "The secret of household arts", "The School of Health", "On the way toward independence" (individual living upgrade plan for orphan house children), "Social-household children adaptation".

  • Correctional-developing and individual orientated programs: " Fairy-tale visitting" (fairytale therapy), "Wonder sand" (sandy game therapy), "Overcoming of written and oral speech disturbance" (a logopedia program for foster-children).

Orphan house children study in schools of Kirovsky district, St Petersburg (schools № 240, 480, 502) and in vocational-technical school №7 of Frunzensky district.

From 2004, together with St Petersburg Post-graduated Academy, on the base of the Helios Center we have been carrying out an experimental project "Art Bridges", this program is aimed at therapeutic correction of emotional incongruity and foster-children personality" (An adviser - Kopitin A.I., a Candidate of Medical Science, Practical Psychological Department APPO SPb).

The Center Specific - a special correctional educational foundation of Type VII.
